USA has brought a lot of types of grapes and knows has very well-known regions that are growing them in order to obtain quality wines. the wines that USA produce are known to have a more modern flavor from those that are produced in the old regions like France, Italy and Spain.
The most known regions that are producing wine are: California, New York, Oregon, Texas, and Washington, which are the regions that are producing the largest quantity of USA wine. Even though USA is also importing wine from other countries and in quite big quantities, the production for the wine inside USA is still increasing and the demand is still high.
So, even though the history of wine is of only 300 hundred years, they have managed to get to the third place in the world for wine producing.
The way that the wine is released on the market is restricted by laws of US, in the idea that the label must have clear indication from where the grapes used are coming from.
each state has its own deviation of this law, but basically in order to be able to have the label on the wine with AVA (American Viticulture Area) the grapes used for producing the wine need to be from the same region in their biggest quantity and if there are two or three types of grapes that are used from different regions than each type of grape needs to be mentioned on the label with the region in which is was grown and with the percentage that is in the wine.
USA wines had a very nice climbing in this industry and they are not ready to give up.
